Does Santa bring presents to all kids?

All year long, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Santa's elves work hard to try to make sure that all the boys and girls around the world who celebrate Christmas wake up to presents on Christmas morning! Tall, short, glasses, freckles, long-hair, short-hair: Santa cares equally about all boys and girls.

But if you've ever heard people talk about "giving back" at the holidays, maybe you've wondered why that's necessary, when Santa already has it covered!

Even though Santa does his best to visit every kid on his sled filled with presents, taking part in charity is still a good deed! Whether or not Santa visits, there are some people who don't have enough money for extra toys or special vacations, and some who can't even afford the food they need or a warm coat for winter.

When you get involved in charity and volunteering, you're helping to make someone's Christmas a little merrier! In fact, did you know that the jolliness and generosity of Santa Claus was inspired by a real-life person, Saint Nicholas, who was famously known for doing good deeds and giving gifts of charity? It's true! By helping others during Christmastime, you're being just like Santa and taking on the true spirit of the holiday!

Here are a few easy ways to get involved in charity this holiday season!

A few weeks before Christmas, clean out your closet and your toy-box! Get rid of the things you don't use or wear anymore to make room for the new things that are coming. Plus, when you donate the stuff you no longer need, you give someone else the opportunity to enjoy them!!- Gather up some canned foods and take them to a collection site or a soup kitchen, where they'll be turned in to hot meals for people who are hungry!- Bring Christmas cheer to people who need it! On or around the holidays, make visits to nursing homes or hospitals to sing songs, play games, or even just say "Merry Christmas"!What other ideas can you think of to give back?
