It’s no secret that children want to discover the world. Childhood is about exploring questions and figuring out how things work. By asking questions (and asking the same questions over and over again), children are often not just looking for answers to how the world works, but why it works that way.
As parents, we try to address our kids’ questions as best as we can in order to raise inquisitive and well-educated children. But since most experts would agree that this can’t be accomplished using frequent abrupt answers or by saying “I don’t know,” we look for ways to handle the endless “why’s”.
Often, we find that we don’t know the answer ourselves and that the places where we might look it up (like an encyclopedia) are written for adults and they still leave us needing to “translate” the information for our kids.
In today’s world, there are lots of solutions, especially with the Internet.
On whyzz, we try to not only provide an accurate answer that is written in kid-friendly terms, but also to show the deeper meaning and greater purpose, which is what kids are so often looking for. Yes, it rains because the water droplets making up a cloud get heavy and then fall to the ground as rain, but it also rains because all living things on Earth rely on water for drinking, growing, and surviving.
By also encouraging kids to brainstorm the answer for themselves and to continue investigating an idea with experiments or further thinking, we’d like to help them with this great task of understanding more than just how the world works. whyzz is a resource that can be at your fingertips any time, any place to assist your little ones in their awesome journey of discovery.
Why whyzz? Because whyzz parents raise wise kids.
