Why do babies cry so much? |

Growing up & growing old
Sometimes you might cry if you’re feeling angry or if you’ve hurt yourself, and that’s perfectly normal. But if you have a baby sibling, you might have noticed that babies seem to cry a whole lot more!
Did you know that babies cry because it’s their way of communicating with us?! Since babies are not able to talk yet, crying is their way of telling us about what they need! A few reasons babies cry are to let us know when they are hungry, when they are tired, or when they don’t feel well. Sometimes it is hard to know exactly what a baby wants or needs when it is crying, but there are different things that the grown-ups in your house can try which might help comfort the baby. (Keep reading below for a few ideas!)
Crying is something that all babies do, and something that everyone did when they were a baby -- you, your mom, your dad, your teachers… even the people you watch on TV -- everyone cried when he or she was a baby!
A lullaby or two!
When a baby is crying, it is important to give comfort. If you have a baby in your family who cries, there are some different ways you can help the grown-ups to comfort the baby.
Ask someone to help you learn a few nice songs or lullabies that you can sometimes sing for the baby. Lots of babies really like to hear songs when they are crying. Find out what songs you liked hearing when you were a baby, and try singing these!
