When and how will you talk to your kids about where babies come from? |

Have you struggled to figure out the right approach for explaining the birds and bees? Deciding when and how to tackle this topic can be quite the challenge for lots of parents! Do you wait until they ask, and only give the details needed to answer their question? Or, do you give The Talk before they start making up their own ideas about it, and tell them everything they need to know?

I plan to start my son on "The Talk" before he asks. I'd rather bypass an awkward moment when he asks by beating him to it.
When my wife was expecting our second child we bought a book that we read to our oldest. It explained in nice kiddie terms what it meant for her to be pregenant and where babies come from. We read it again to the second kid when we were expecting the third. Worked really well, since we didn't have to fumble awkeardly for what words we wanted to use or how we wanted to explain things.
A book is a great idea! Can anyone recommend one???
