When and how do you talk to your kids about current events? |

Do you fill your kids in about what's happening in the news? If they ask a question, how do you handle it? Is it better to let them be kids for as long as they can, and avoid the harsh realities of our world? Or is it better to let them be informed?

She'e never asked - I think if she asked I'd dO my best to explain - but unless she wantes to know I think kids should be kids and they don't need to know, so much of it is scary or complicated, even for me and Im an adult, ha
I've found that they on;y ask if we're talking about it a lot in the house. but really I think they find it boring, at least at this age, so a short answer usually does it before they tire of listening to us explain........
I dont think kids need to know about the news unless its stuff directly affecting them. They grow up too fast in so many ways. let this be one area where they can stay kids.
