What is a tractor?

When you think of a tractor, you may imagine a farmer driving in the middle of an open field. But did you know that tractors have many uses, from mowing and gardening to drilling and road building?!

A tractor is a heavy, high-powered vehicle that performs a variety of important jobs! For example, tractors can be used in both farming and construction. A farmer may use a tractor to get the soil ready for planting, while a tractor called a backhoe loader can both load and dig at construction sites. Some tractors even tow heavy items!

Tractors come in many different sizes. Some, such as compact utility tractors, are smaller models that people can use for yard work, while others are big enough to pull other large machines!

The next time you’re riding in the car, play a little game called “How Many Tractors?” Bulldozers. Farm tractors. Backhoes. How many tractors can you spot? Construction sites in the city and farms on the outskirts of the town are just a couple of places where you can find tractors. It may be helpful to look at pictures of tractors before you play the game! As you know, they come in different colors and sizes. Happy tractor spotting!
