A leprechaun is a small, fictional creature that is elf- or fairy-like and very mischievous in character! The idea of leprechauns comes from Irish folklore, in which they are said to be old men who work as shoemakers and possess or guard some treasure! (Usually a pot of gold.)
Leprechauns are wily and hard-to-catch, making it difficult for those who seek their fortune to succeed. Even when caught, leprechauns are said to have the ability to vanish and get away!
Draw a picture of what you think a leprechaun might look like! What color are his clothes? Does he wear a hat? If he’s mischievous, what kind of facial expressions might he have? Don’t forget that leprechauns are usually very small – show the size of your leprechaun by drawing other things around him, like trees or houses!
