The brachiosaurus was one of the biggest dinosaurs (and one of the biggest animals) to ever walk on the planet! Its neck alone could stretch to thirty feet long. That's taller than most two-story houses, and that's only the neck!
With its long front legs, this dinosaur looked kind of like a big giraffe, except it was much, much bigger! It weighed about as much as six elephants!
Luckily for the other animals, brachiosaurus was a plant-eater. It had to eat a lot of plants to stay healthy. Scientists think it may have had to eat 440 pounds of food each day! That's a lot of leaves! Its long neck would have helped it reach the leaves in some very tall trees that smaller animals couldn't reach.

Nothing but Neck!
30 feet sounds like a long length for a neck, but just how long is that?
How tall are you? If you're not sure, have a grown-up or a friend help measure you. How many of your whole bodies would it take to stretch 30 feet long? If you are 3'6" tall, it would take more than eight of you to reach 30 feet! Have a grown-up help you do the math.
