It is NOT up to kids to take care of grown-ups if they have a drinking problem. If you are worried because you think someone drinks too much, talk about it with a parent or other trusted adult. They will decide what to do.

Who are some trusted adults in your life who you can talk to about the things that bother you?
Most grown-ups who choose to drink do so responsibly and in moderation.
But what if you think a parent or other family member drinks too much? What if the way someone acts when they have been drinking confuses or scares you? What if you feel uncomfortable around a babysitter or friend's parent when they have been drinking?
If this happens, you need to share your concerns with a trusted adult. If you are afraid to talk to a parent whose drinking worries you, there are lots of people you can turn to. You can talk to your other parent, another relative like a grandparent or aunt, a teacher, or other trusted adult.
