What does a musician do? |

Do you play a musical instrument? Or do you really like singing? – If so, maybe you’ve thought that when you grow up, you’d like to be a musician!
The job of a musician varies depending on the circumstances and the person. Some people, like singers and people in bands, are able to make a living by playing their music for people who love it! These people usually have albums of songs that they’ve written and recorded which are for sale in stores and over the Internet. They often tour to different cities and play concerts for their fans. Musicians who have careers like this have to be very talented and work very hard!
Other musicians might work in an orchestra where they play their instrument as part of a symphony, alongside lots of other talented musicians. Some musicians also work as teachers, composers, or performers in shows.
Musicians have to be hard-working, persistent, and often patient. They also have to practice, practice, practice! – Even professional musicians who have been playing an instrument for years or have studied their instrument at a conservatory or college still have to practice regularly!
Some musicians specialize in one type of music, while others might play many.
What are some of your favorite types of music? There are lots of types to choose from, from classical to pop to country to jazz to rock to blues and more! The good news is, you don’t have to choose just one favorite!!
