To see why pollution is so harmful, try this experiment at home! – It’ll give you a good idea of how pollution in one area (the water) can affect another (plants).
Get some white carnations and put them in a vase of clean water. Put a few other white carnations in another vase, and add a few drops of food coloring the water of the second vase.
After a day or two, do you notice any changes in the flowers?? Do the flowers in each vase still look the same, or have the flowers in one vase changed a little bit?
How do you think this is similar to what happens to plants when there are unnatural chemicals dumped into their drinking water?
