How is candy made?

Candies are mostly made from sugar that has to be boiled at a special temperature. The temperatures for the boiling can be really hot, often hotter than even boiling water! Depending on the type of candy, the exact ingredients and steps will be different.

In addition to sugar, candy uses ingredients like flavorings, nuts, gelatin, egg whites, and butter, depending on what it being made. Once the ingredients are boiled, they have to be shaped and then cooled until they harden!
