Have your kids ever asked about why grown-up women wear make-up? Do you they ask about wearing it themselves? How do you address the subject? In what situations (dress-up, costumes, parties) do you think it's okay for young kids to wear make-up, if any?

My little girl is into all things pink and girly. And that includes makeup. I let her wear a little bit when she plays dress up. Cheap stuff from the party store. She knows its just for fun, so i think its okay.
This is such a tough issue. They soak up so many images from tv/media about beauty. So hard to explain the line between wearing it for fun and know that beauty 'come from the inside'. We do makeup for halloween, occaisonal nail polish for fun. But I try to make sure i'm not sending the message (even w/my own useof makeup) that its makeup that creates beauty. I dunno, just have to do our best!
No makeup, not even for fun. ITS for grown-ups. Little girls dont need to get any more ideas about what the world thinks they should be
