Great Websites: whyzz.com – Answers to kid’s Why questions
The other day my daughter kept asking me why oceans are salty and lakes are not. If you know the answer off hand, you’re smarter than me. After a few futile attempts to get her to focus on something else, I decided to use my friend the Internet and search for the answer. As I was browsing around, I came across this awesome website where you can type in your kids’ questions and see simply-put, easy-to-understand answers. Simply awesome.
Whyzz
Has your child asked you a question that you don’t know the answer to? Whyzz has all the solutions in an easy-to-explain While growing up, we are inundated with a lot of facts in school and college. At some point, we were given the reason as to why the sky looks blue. Someone had explained why we dream. And wait, do fish sleep or not?It is difficult to keep a track of all this information, especially as we grow older and learn more and more things. And then, when your child or grandkid or nephew/niece asks you a question that is as simple and innocent as “Why don’t women have moustaches or beards?, you simply cannot place the answer.
Of course, that is still better than the answers you do know but can’t figure out how to tell them, for questions such as “What is puberty?”
For all such awkward moments, you now have a friend you can turn to. Whyzz is a storehouse of questions and answers for frequent queries by children.
The main page of the site has a search engine to ask your query, along with some currently popular topics, such as ‘spotlight’, ‘featured answer’ and ‘recently added answers’.
By using the search engine on the main page, you can easily find the answer to a question that you have been posed by someone, or you can browse through the site for the same. Categories on the site include nature, animals, world, science, human body, serious issues, creativity and imagination – with each having its own sub-sections full of Q&As.
The cool part is that the answers are usually put across in very simple and easy-to-understand words, making it ideal for your child to surf the site on his own to satiate his curiosity.
And yes, you can also add to the site’s growing database of knowledge by answering a query put forth by someone else. The editors of Whyzz welcome and encourage user-submitted answers, but always review them before putting them up on the site itself to ensure they are correct and appropriate. manner for your little one…
