Can kids fix their parents' marriage? |

Kids cannot cause a divorce and they cannot fix a marriage. Marriage and divorce are things that grown-ups make decisions about for their own reasons.
Some kids think that if they are very, very good their parents will get back together. They may do things they know will make their parents happy, like picking up after themselves or being nicer to their sister. Others think if they are very, very bad their parents will stay together. They may do things they know will make their parents mad, hoping to show their parents just how much the divorce upsets them.
Like it or not, there is nothing a child can say or do that will make parents stay married, just like there is nothing a child can do that will make them divorce.
