Do you have a tape measure around your home? Measure out nine feet. That's about the height of the tallest person in recorded history. Imagine what it would be like to be that tall. Would you be able to fit in your bed? Would you be able to walk through doorways? What changes could be made to a home to make it easier for a really tall person to get around?
Giants are huge, very tall mythical beings. They show up in stories, on TV, in games, in movies, and in people's imaginations, but they aren't real. There also haven't been any fossils discovered that show they ever existed. Usually in stories, giants are the bad guys, like in "Jack and the Beanstalk" or the story of David and Goliath, but sometimes they're friendly too!
There are plenty of tall people in the world, but they aren't considered giants. The tallest person in recorded history is Robert Wadlow. He lived in the early 20th Century and grew to a huge height of 8 feet, 11 inches tall! That's taller than the ceilings in most rooms.
