Nobody knows exactly why people cry, but it's a natural reaction that everyone does!

Crying is often associated with pain, like falling down and cutting your knee, or being sad because your friend has moved away. Crying when we are hurt is usually considered a physical reaction (like pulling your hand away from the water if it's too hot), whereas crying from sadness is usually considered an emotional reaction. Many people think tears are the body's way of releasing pain, since it usually feels good to let out your feelings and cry!

Crying from happiness probably follows a similar idea -- it is your body's way of expressing all of the happy emotions your are feeling!

Happy Memories

Draw a picture of yourself the last time you felt so happy that you could have (or did!) cry!

What was the occasion which made you so happy? Where were you at the time? Remember to include in your pictures details about the happy expressions on your face, and the faces of the people around you too!

Does it make you feel happy just to think about this happy event??
